8 art supplies every artist needs to complete your Inktober challenge

 

Inktober is a challenge started by an artist Jake Parker in 2009 to uplift and to develop consistency among the artist community. Since then it has been followed by artists all around the world. Recently, the official list of Inktober 2020 was released and here are must-have supplies which will help you to complete this year’s Inktober challenge.

1. Graphite pencils:

   
   Graphite gives you the freedom to make changes in the initial basic sketches in comparison to pen and ink or any other media before diving into your final artwork! Graphite pencils are available in sets as well as singles on our website!
   
   
   
   

2. Nibs and holders:

   
   Nibs are metal units designed for different calligraphy styles with varying widths and points. And holders are metal and wooden tools used to hold the nibs in place! 3. Markers:

   
   There are several markers available with different kinds of inks and tips! You are spoilt with choice when it comes to markers. 4. Fineliners:

   
   Fine liners are markers with a very fine tip ranging from 1.0, 2.0 to 0.01, 0.05 and so on! Fine liners work well for all the detailing that takes your artwork to the next level. Fine liners can be used on watercolours, acrylics, gouache and of course graphite!
   
   
   
   
   

5. Uni-ball Signo White Gel pen:

6. Inks:

   
   While we are talking about Inktober how can we not talk about Inks! Inks can be used for almost anything and the possibilities are endless. There are dye-based, pigment-based, alcohol-based and waterproof inks. 7. Fountain Pens:

   
   If you want to avoid the dip pen and ink mess you can use fountain pens for a hassle-free writing experience! 8. Paper

   
   Paper is of equal importance as other media like inks and pens. There are different types of paper available but some artists use rough grain paper which of course has a rough texture and it gives a different depth to your artwork or some use medium grain or a smooth grain for pen and ink illustrations. Using a smooth or medium grain paper for calligraphy and writing can help reduce the wear and tear of the nibs or delicate pen tips and they will last for a longer period.
